Plots or apartments: matching the format to your purpose

2026-04-22 · 5 min read

Neither format is better in the abstract. The right one depends on your horizon, liquidity needs and appetite for management.

Plotted land offers flexibility and no maintenance obligation, but it produces no income while you hold it, and liquidity depends on the depth of the local resale market.

Apartments can generate rental income and are usually easier to finance, but they carry maintenance costs, depreciation of the built structure and dependence on society management.

Villas sit between the two: land component with a built asset, typically with a higher ticket size and an end-user driven resale market.

Decide on purpose first. Capital that must remain productive favours income-generating formats. Capital that can rest favours land.
